It is hypoglycemia, and it is dietary. Beware chocolate, and other sugar bombs when you don't feel like you need it to end the crash. Beware not eating. Eat more protien. Try an apple with peanut butter next time you crash, it has the proper balance of fruit sugars and protein you need to stabilize your blood sugar. The headaches were part of it, yes. Depending on what kind of scan you get, you wouldn't have to take out all your metal. I had a CT scan of my head last year and didn't have to take anything out.

If we're talking paranoia, my sister had "abnormal" migraines too, and it took her ages before the doctors even offered to give her a scan. She had a brain tumour. Not that it's likely to be what your problem is, but naturally I'm a little freaked out when I hear about it in others.
