Eiiish! Do you ever have those ridiculously early days? I'm not talking about the casual 9 a.m wake up after a nice 8 hour rest either. I mean the 7 a.m wildly groping at the alarm clock that is reminding you that there is a 3 hour lecture in an hour and you only really got 4 hours decent sleep after staying up thinking about someone who almost certainly isn't thinking about you (it's a very eloquent alarm clock). Not only is it 7 a.m but your churning stomach seems to decide that, although supper was over 12 hours ago, you aren't hungry. A soggy bowl of cereal isn't appetizing at the best of times but at 7 a.m it has the taste and texture of pulped cardboard.
A small point of light in the otherwise miserable murk that is an early morning is the start of the day shower. You stand under the faucet while hot water and steam return some essence of humanity to your gray skin. Unfortunately time seems to speed up in these perfect moments and you can easily lose half an hour just standing in the shower (or lying in the fetal position and shivering, depending on how busy your night was). Before you know it time is up and your 3 hour lecture is about to begin without you. The only moment of peace and reflection you get is plugging your iPod into your ears on the walk up to campus.
I don't exactly know where I'm going with this post but my point is that I have a lot of trouble concentrating in my monday morning lectures and I dont know why
