My poor laptop is dying, about a year ago the battery went and now one of the hard drives is dying, so it's a scramble to save data that wasn't important enough to back up. Copying around the dying sectors making duplicates on drive while the backup is going on, pulling things into the os ram cache to give it the best chance of surviving...
