Been a while since I posted one of these. Not sure if I really have much to say but it feels like time to say something, strange isn't it how that happens.
I finally told the guys I was doing contract work for that it just wasn't happening. I'd sit there and stare at it for hours and just never get anything done. I think I probably spent 60 hours overall looking at 20 hours of work not wanting to do it. So yah as much as I hate bailing on something I said I'd do, I just had to call it. The not getting more money out of them's kinda a bitch, but I like being able to walk past my computer again without feeling like there's something I need to be getting done that I'm not. And of course it frees me up to work on stuff at home that I actually want to.
Work's been an interesting mix of going well and confusion. Going well in that I'm getting my work done and continuing to learn new stuffs, confusion in that the turnover continues and people are dropping constantly. We're keeping up the average of a person every other week nicely.Looks like the game's going to be announced in a few months at which time I'll be able to say, yah I'm working on that, which I'm looking forward to.
Going to a bachelor party tonight, food at a pub, a baseball game, and then strippers. Strangely enough I'm looking forward to the ones that aren't strippers. I realize that's not the most guy like attitude, but at some point in my life I just got tired of paying people to pay attention to me, and the appeal of that even when they're naked has faded.
Planning to go and see Rebecca playing this week, will be good to see that crew again, and who knows maybe some of you other locals'll show up too.
