Well, today's not off to a good start.

I called in sick to work for tomorrow, because I have a sore throat and some congestion, and I know I'll not be getting much rest this evening to be able to recuperate before five o'clock tomorrow morning. But when I called in, early, to give the office plenty of time to cover it, I got the third degree. Not just my judgment but my integrity was directly challenged repeatedly.

I've worked at this job for nearly a year. In that time, I've been late twice. That's it. For the weekend shift (on which only four people work), we've routinely had a major absence at least once a month and sometimes a good deal more often than that. There are two of us on my shift, and I've had to train three different partners over the last year, because that's how high the turnover is, and that's how unreliable my coworkers are.

In other words, I've tried to be as responsible as possible at this job, and been far more responsible than the majority of my coworkers. Not only was that not appeciated, it wasn't even acknowledged.

I really don't think I can work for these fuckheads anymore.

Wow, they sound like a bunch of assholes. You would think the extra time for them to find coverage would be appreciated rather than interrogated frown
((hugs)) I hope you get to feeling better.

I hate asshats like them. I worked for a company like that. My father coded while in the hospital 300 miles away and I raced up thinking the end was near. I got the third degree over that and like you I felt like I was being called a liar. You should definitely look for a new gig.
