So, yesterday I woke up thinking it was Tuesday, which is a day off for me. When I realized it was actually Wednesday, and that I would have to go in to work, it was like Anti-Christmas. I was so rattled that when I went to the store for the fixings for my lunch, I discovered that had actually put on two different pairs of shoes.

In my defense, they were, like nearly everything I own, both black. But still.

I need a real job.

My happiness is spliced with some bitterness though. For instance, I had a girlfriend when I went to Russia in late January. We stayed together and I remained faithful. Two weeks before I came back, she decided to leave me because she wouldn't have time for me. Of course, my broken-heartedness and lack of time really kept me from having a shot with any of the Russian girls I had previously turned down, so I couldn't even pursue any of the opportunities I would otherwise have had.

So, I don't know if I could really agree with you on the level of happiness comparison at the moment, despite the fact that I generally am an optimist.

Depending on the where-to-teach, the what-to-teach may become more clear. By that I mean that teaching at university is a much more complicated decision. Unless you are a very popular professor teaching a popular course, it's difficult to make money. If you teach grade school things are relatively laid out for you. Not that I know what factors are attractive or unattractive to you.
