I'll try to help you visualize that corner. You're standing in the intersection of Main St @ 12 Mile, pointing north. On the eastern corner (right) you have the National. On the western corner you have a brick block of a party store. Next to the party store & right across Main St. from the National proper, you have Luna. North of Luna you have a dry cleaners.

I must admit, I have no idea what that corner of Royal Oak looks like in the daylight. Sad as it sounds, I didn't recognize a daytime photo of 11 Mile & Main until I read the caption.
