Yesterday, while I was outside smoking a cigarrette, I held a door open for this young woman who was entering the building. It seems that me holding a door open for her pissed her off. I was raised to be respectful to women and to open doors, pull out chairs, etc. when around women. Is this not acceptable anymore to women? It's not like I was trying to get with her or anything, I just held a door open.

I have read that some men (who they interviewed I have no idea) are confused as to how they should act towards the opposite sex. Should they be super sensitive or should they push the limits of macho-ism as much as possible. I refuse to be that way. I can be as rough as I want to be at times, but if a woman I know is upset or just wants to talk, I push everything to the side and just listen to her. I try to be as gentlemanly as possible.

Hell, maybe I am confused after all.

My last girlfriend was a bump on a log.
"Ruth what do you want to do?"
"Oh whatever you want to do is OK with me."
"Wanna go catch a flick at the theater."
"Yeah, OK"
"Anything in particular?"
"Whatever you want to see is OK by me."
Ugh!!!! I can't stand that.

That was a few years back and I have been so busy I haven't met anyone I would like to spend time with. So maybe I do need a refresher course. biggrin

Just a thought. smile

Holding a door open should not have pissed her off.

Holding a door open and then grabbing her ass = mad

Just holding the door open to be polite = smile
