Busy week so far. I am looking at getting a multitrack mixer/recorder so I can start experimenting even more with sounds. I started looking for sound effects libraries and because my brain says, "vinyl not CD's", I looked at Half Price Books and found some old Daytona 500 sounds and a recording of the moon landing. I ended up playing Chicago's Greatest Hits backwards reeeaaaaallllllyyyyy ssssllllooooowwww just to see what it sounded like. Weird. That's it. Just one word, weird. I put an echo on it and it sounded weirder. Not much you can do with old Chicago songs. And all of this came from watching that damn THX 1138 movie a few weeks ago. Now I am constantly listening to various sounds and seeing how I can warp them and whatnot. Well there's probably a little Frank Zappa influence in there somewhere. I think I will put some background sounds to that remixed preacher sermon I did a month or so ago. Who knows? I just go with whatever intrests me at the moment. An actor is coming by the community college next week to talk about how to go about casting for a film and I will be there with pad and pen in hand to take studious notes. Phew! There's a lot going on, man!
