I'm convinced that no one is reading this but for the sake of having not posted in awhile here I go. I've recently become inspired to get a new tattoo and I figure if I describe it here it'll help me visualize it better as well as open the door to comments on maybe a way to refine it.
Just a note, this tattoo is inspired by a few elements in my life that happen to have various things in common with each other, so it's a bit of collage of ideas merging together. The main element of the tattoo is the symbol for the UNSC which, for those of you who don't know, is the military organization that the Master Chief from Halo is a part of.
Now assuming the image loaded properly, at the bottom where the banner is it simply says, United Nations Space Command. I want to swap that out for the phrase "Spartans Never Die". Which to me has a double meaning which I'll explain later but for now on with the description.
Underneath this image I then want to get an angel done in the still of a pinup girl, under one arm she's holding a spartan helmet and be leaning on a large two handed sword with the other arm standing on a cloud. Also I want her to be looking up at the UNSC symbol and smiling.
Alrighty then, as promised, why "Spartans Never Die". The phrase itself comes from Halo, in the game Spartan are looked upon as the ultimate soldier and given the human race is facing xenocide, the Spartans are seen as humanities last shot. Thus, when they fall in combat they are never listed as KIA but only as MIA due to the effects on morale to all other soldiers as well as the civilian populous. Which coined, Spartans never die, they just go missing. As for the second meaning, I've recently started doing distance obstacle courses, one series is aptly named "Spartan Race". Which I have done, well one of at least. They have half-dozen or so different races which vary in distance from 7km - 35km and they also have one simply called Death March which takes a long weekend to complete. I've only done the shortest of these races so far but have become some what engrossed in the Spartan community now. Even the 7km race will push a person to their limits with the obstacles they have in place.
As for the pinup girl... who doesn't like a good pinup girl but to me it also symbolizes a soldiers honor. Though I myself am not one many of my family members are soldiers. The helmet just goes along with the whole spartan theme but the sword represents not only the spartan but also yet another passion in my life which is fencing and not just the flimsy little wand you see in the Olympics but real SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) weapons. From Rapiers and Sabers to Long swords, Spears and really any archaic weapon. My favorite being the two-handed long sword though.

Nice to see I'm not just talking to myself. Soon as I get it done I'll be sure to post a pic of it. First things first though, I need to find a new tattoo artist, mine moved away.
