... Another day at the office.
Two things... First let me just say that it IS nice to be working in a field related to what I went to school for... So many of my friends slaved through years of school persuing a dream only to find that they couldn't land a job in their desired field. So for this I am thankful...
However... I am a bit of a tool and I have chosen the very frustrating feild of computers...
So today when my personal office PC crashed it was a free for all aorund the office... I guess they felt it was somehow Karmically right that I would have a catastrophic hardware failure and have to spend 6 hrs rebuilding, reinstalling, and rescuing my data... Haha...ha... Yes to some degree I too think its funny that the resident geek's computer went down (hard)... But I don't poke fun of them when they've done something stupid that has resulted in them losing an entire days work. I have had to tell people that I was sorry that when the computer asked them "if they were sure they wanted to do what they were about to do" they clicked "Yes" without reading. But sometimes, when you click buttons without looking bad things happen... You don't drive with your eyes closed right?
I'm getting off topic... Needless to say that since this happend shortly after I arrived, my lunch hour was pent listening to people giggle at the loss... It wasn't until they needed me to fix something that affected them directly that they realised... Oh shit... He doesn't have a computer to fix our mistake before the boss notices... HAHAHAHAHA... Byte me...
Anyway, my entire day was wasted and I hate that 'cause it just means more work tomorrow... BUT I have a fresh crisp new install on my elderly little machine here and she is running oh so nicely... I didn't lose an ounce of data, and the reinstall actually corrected a problem I had been having with my system hanging when I shut it down...
Hehehehe...
Enough of that... On a completely different note... It's Tursday which means tomorrow is Friday, and that means it's almost the weekend. FUN! Should be restful... My buddy is coming into town and we're just going to sit around drink and play video games... No big thinking or entertaining... Mindless male bonding... I think I'm going to rent Resident Evil 4 so much fun!!!!
