I've been thinking a lot about my life lately, and it occurred to me that I don't really have any really close friends. The fact that I've moved around a lot over the last 13 years, and my being a very socially awkward person, haven't helped me make a lot of friends, or get close to the few friends I do have. I would really like to make more friends around my area, but meeting people, for me, is really difficult.

I might not look it or act like it online, but in real life I'm one of the most awkward, socially anxious people you could ever meet. I'm the guy who will go to a bar alone and only talk to someone if there happens to be someone he knows there... or if somebody initiates a conversation. I'm not sure where it comes from. I used to be really outgoing and talked to everyone without ever feeling awkward. Now, I'm lucky if I can get the nerve to text someone I know to ask them to do something.
