Just came back from the gypsy jazz show at Barbes in Park Slope. Stephane Wrembel rocking it on guitar, as always. This may be like the 10th time I am seeing them there, unfortunately, (or, rather, fortunately for them) they will not be playing here until September 18th because they are going on a European tour and right after that on a West Coast tour. Man, the whole room starts clapping in tune when they finish the set off with "Dark Eyes", an old Russian Gypsy song. What an awesome way to start off a new week.
