update for the hell of it.

Good Fingers (edit 12/03)

I was wrong to let you run off with my arm.
I want it back.

I need those fingers to do the overlock stitch
and reattach those sleeves I tore off in rage or love.
I spent so much time ignoring my missing limb
I've forgotten it was gone.
I think I've swatted the fly off my nose but my right hand
is still behind my ear and that left--
what's left--
is now discolored and stubbed.
And you are still dialing with my good fingers,
calling me from the road.

the premiere went fine. overbooked. didn't stay for the film, too busy prepping for open bar. too busy to enjoy an open bar, what a shame! now onto my six + website jobs.
