Pretty much my whole life has been spent as a love affair with music. Since I was a kid and used to play-sing along to my Mom's 45s to the "broke times" when I scrounged together change to pay for a new album, to times when I passed on potential gfs because our musical tastes were not in sync, music has pretty much dominated my life and dictated how I define myself to others ("What are you into?" "Music!").
So tonight, as I'm waiting for the 6,700-plus songs on my hard drive to load into my new iPod, I'm thinking that when it's done I'll have a pretty accurate summation of my life in a small, portable white thingamajig with a dorky apple on it.
I'm not sure how I'll feel about that tomorow, but tonight it seems kind of puny.

Yeah, I've had A Wild and Crazy Guy on vinyl for about five years (I took it from my dad) and then I bought a used vinyl copy of Let's Get Small a year or two later. He's tied with Mitch Hedberg as my all time favorite comedian. They're both so absurd.

And congratulations on the iPod. Mine died not too long ago, but I'm looking to buy a new 60 gig soon.
