So, something totally random happened to me today:

I get this email from this woman at work saying that she wants to contact her daughter. The way the first few sentences of this email is worded makes it seem like spam. So I go to delete it, but something stops me and I read on. I find out that it really is from a woman I work with, and that she really does want me to contact her daughter. She says, "You seem like such a educated, well mannered young man...." (Obviously I've got her fooled.) I don't even know this lady, I think I've said maybe two sentences to her in the seven months I've worked there.

Apparently her daughter just broke up with her boyfriend of 5+ years. She wants someone (male) to be her friend or something via email (the daughter lives in Phoenix, AZ). My first thought is, "What the fuck?" My second thought is, "Does this chick's daughter know she's going around to random guys and asking them to email her daughter?" My third thought is, well, what do I have to lose? After asking my boss if this lady is the lady I think she is, I reply saying that I'll do it.

After replying, the mother tells me that her daughter left home at 18 with this "loser" guy and is now living in Phoenix alone. So I think maybe the mom's ultimate goal is to bring her home? I don't know. This is a very wierd thing, but what the hell?
