in anticipation of having lasik/prk surgery in january, i have to wear my glasses for a month. this 'month' began saturday. all weekend and so far today, people have been asking me about my glasses. (my eyes are HORRIBLE, so i'm rarely without my contact lenses.) when i tell them why i'm wearing glasses or why i usually never do, it becomes a contest.
"you're vision CAN'T be worse than mine. my glasses are coke bottles."
"oh yeah, my eyes are terrible...i can't see the big E on the chart."
"i'd never consider eye surgery. my eyes are so bad they couldn't fix them."
yeah, well, my dad can beat up your dad. so there.
i'd like to know: when did people become so proud of their poor vision? is it a badge of honor to be blind as a bat?
on a side note--saw dave attell saturday nite. good show...not great, but good enough.
hope all is well in your world.
