Been crazy busy the last week so I haven't had a chance to be on the site. Glad it's still here.
After a marathon mixing session last Monday, the demo is done for Angelo's band. Well.....almost. I've got to turn up the levels of the acoustic guitars in one song. It was a difference of aesthetics between me and Angelo and since it's his project it's his call. Going to stop by there tonight quickly and fix it. Other than that everything is good to go for their website. This is the best work I've ever done and even from an unbiased opinion I find it hard to believe it was recorded in someone's basement. Yaa me.
So that's how I ended up being thrown off regarding my time for everything else. Still managed to get piano practice done in the mornings but I was also busy writing up a report I needed to present last night. I've given up any pretense of trying to do stuff like that at work on my lunch. One of my co-workers sits in the lunch room and keeps talking to me even though he can see I'm busy. He does it on purpose because he needs to be the center of attention all the time an if I'm not paying attention to him he starts to talk louder.
With my test at the upcoming Aikido seminar here in April I've decided to stick around the Dojo after class and get a little more practice in. I feel pretty comfortable now and find myself trying out different things with the techniques. In no way shape or form do I consider myself some great martial artist. That point is made abundently clear each time a new technique is taught but it's fun to be able to refine what you've learned instead of trying to remeber which hand or foot goes where.
Kind of the same with me and the pieces I'm doing at piano lessons right now. The fingers seem to now where they are going by themselves and I can concetrate on shaping and interpreting the piece. This doesn't apply to some of the crazy runs I've got to play in the Mozart piece but even those don't sound like a bunch of cars crashing into one another. Maybe soon I'll actually be able to play them at 145bpm instead of the 100bpm I'm doing now.
Going to give Chuck a phone call this morning as she is back from New York and it's time for the two of us to start looking hard for a place. I don't think there's going to be a problem, contrary to what my Dad thinks. It's not a lack of places in this city, it's a lack of affordable places in this city. I'm willing to go up to $900 for a two bedroom. Not sure how much Chuck wants or can spend but if we find a place and that's perfect I'm willing to make up the difference. She can clean the bathroom or something (I joke).
Hope everyone is doing great

I had a landlord for a basement suite once that had rigged the lock on our door so that we couldn't lock it and he'd knock and enter simultaneously. He did that once at my bedroom door. I didn't lie there too long.
