Went to the local Fringe Festival yesterday with Kris, the girl I saw AVP with a couple of weeks ago. We saw a show called The Rap Cantebury and it was what it sounds like, a rap version of The Cantebury Tales. The set up was the narrator had stowed away on a tour bus filled with famous rap artists and a furious mic battle took place. Trust me, it was one of the cleverest things I have ever seen. The guy performing had all these different personas and pulled them off brilliantly. Kris knew the guy from UVIC. She had been on the panel when he presented his M.A thesis which was Rap as a continuation of Oral tradition. Like I said, clever guy.
I picked up some new tires for my bike on Saturday. I spent the extra money and got some really good ones that should last me a couple of years. Less waste and less time changing tires. I also made arrangements to get a tune up for it. I know the basics about bike maintenance but it's always a good idea to get it looked at by someone who does it for a living everyonce in a while. Now if only I could convince my Dad of this in regards to all the things he tries to fix (like his car).
Hope everyone is having a great Labour Day.
