Another great weekend weatherwise.
I'm attending an Iaido conference at the local university for a couple of hours today. Went yesterday and got some good points on how to hold a sword. Seems that because my arms are so long that I can make certain allowances. I'd been told to line up the tsuba( the hand guard ) with my nipple for one of the attacks but what I should have been doing is is to line up my other hand. Much easier. It's kind of cool how everything is taught, my teacher is shown something then he'll pass the info back to us. Kind of hierachical and very Japanesse.
Went to the opera last night with my mum. Yes laugh all you want but I truley believe everyone should go to an opera once in their life, it's a really neat experience. Saw Carmen and man was it good!! The set's were awesome and the leads were really well cast. My mum and I got to go backstage after because she knows the stage director.Kind of neat being on the other side of the stage. I heard all the singers were going to one of the local karaokee bars to celebrate. It would have been cool to watch classicaly trained singers tackling Britney Spears, her songs might have sounded half decent.
