So I must say, just cus you can work on your own car does not mean that you'll love it.

A little bit ago my transmission in my Taurus went to crap. Not fun. Instead of spending $2700 on a refurbished transmission to be installed I decided to see what I could do. Two days and 12 quarts of transmission fluid later I decided that it was beyond the ability of me and my garage to replace a transmission and I slapped it all back together. I don't know how these mechanics do it, it seems every single car has parts and pieces you need special tools for that only work for that make, model and year. I mean why make something so complicated!!!!!
RRRRRRRRRRRR. I'm just going to have to break down and buy a classic car. One they didn't try and pack in all this extra crap into just so when it breaks down (it will, they all do) I at least have a sporting chance of fixing it up myself.
Bah!
