I really am a walking hazard. Last week my sister rammed her shopping cart into the back of my bad ankle, and today, only a couple hours ago, I fall coming down from my attic. This is how my attic is set up. you open a door in my hallway, and there are a few small stairs built in that lead up to the door to the attic. Maybe about 3 small, shallow stairs.
I grabbed a box from the attic, then turned with it in my hands, blocking some of my sight. I step down one step, then go to step onto the main floor (bad foot first, lol) and I slipped on a big manila envelope filled with some old x-rays, tearing that open, and I think I became slightly air-born. I landed smack on my back, right on the edges of my shallow stairs. I also hit my elbow and my leg....the box, I'm still holding on to, but the holiday basked that was in a plastic bag went flying, and I broke half of it (but it will be fixed easily...it's fake plants stuck in foam in the basket). My first thought is, "aw man! I just broke the basket!!" and then I think about if I broke my back or shattered my elbow. Knowing my luck, it's not a stupid thing to think about.....While these thoughts are going on, my mom is running upstairs, shouting my name at the top of her lungs. It's as if I just got hit my a 16 wheeler with that woman....She panics and turns crazy for a minute....So, I'm sitting there, with the box and some other things on top of me, and my mom running upstairs and pulling all of that crap off of me while screaming my name. All I'm thinking is, the basket, did I break myself? and omg mom, stfu.
I'm obviously okay, but in a good bit of pain. My bad ankle is also hurting....I'm so fucking smart!
I can't seem to catch a break....I screwed up my ankle back in July, and I'm going to get an MRI in January....I get sick twice in 2 weeks, and my cough still isn't gone. If anything, the cough is getting worse and my lungs feel tight. But the mucinex is helping somewhat. AND NOW I fell and break back and shatter my elbow. Well, that's how it feels right now.....I don't lie when I call myself a walking hazard.
Wish me luck getting to work in one piece tomorrow morning...
