Hey all you SG heroes!! Sorry I have pretty MIA the last week or so but life happens. Im ashamed to say that I haven't commented on anything in a week or even logged on for about four days. Not like me at all since you know I love to spread all the love I can. I do have a good reason though; packing everything I have and moving it about 450 miles or so. Very little in life is as stressful as a move, especially across long distances. The longer and more borders you cross the worse it gets am I right? Luckily we just crossed one state border this move. I couldnt imagine the stress in moving across a country border, though if I move to Europe someday I will. Any horror stories about moving? I know I have a few and love hearing them all. Hey @missy and @rambo that could be a fantastic homework topic. Most be hard thinking of some after awhile 😉.

On that note lets do the weekly homework! Advice for the younger me? Wow where do I start. Lets start generic and then get slighty more personal.

1. Love thyself more. Easy to say, hard to do. Self esteem is always a struggle, especially for teens, and I had my fair share of bad moments. That's one reason this site is so important. We need to realize we are all special, especially yourself and you are beautiful and loved just the way you are. Enough said.

2. Take more risks. I'm not really an adrenaline junky and rarely do anything dangerous or without really thinking things through, except quitting shitty jobs haha. Because of this I feel I have missed out on a lot of things my friends were doing. Sure I may have had more broken bones and injuries but Id have more good stories.

3. Listen to my Dad more, or parents in general. We all think we know more than our parents, and some of us do, but my dad gave me so much advice that I didnt take that ended up biting me in the ass later. Maybe its that lecturee tone parents get that makes teens tune out or something but age does bring wisdom, or at least better hindsight. Just try to actually take advice from lets say more experienced people.

Learn and retain more wordly knowledge. I say wordly as in languages and trade skills not just school stuff. Things I know this late in life that would have helped more to know. Skills such as home/auto repair, towing trailers, languages, filing taxes yourself, talking to strangers, talking in front of crowds, general first aid, tying knots, housework such as laundry or deep cleaning, advanced animal care and so much more. Lots of these I do know and are worth knowing but some im still working on myself. Feel free to add more life skills people should know in the comments. I'm curious to know.

Ok now on to the actual reason for this blog...my move. Finally settled back in my home city of Boise, Idaho. Frankly, never should have left. I was born here and felt the need to experience something new and as much as I am glad I did I am also happy to be back. Something about this place just feels right. I must not be the only one who thinks so cause its been ranked amongst the fastest growing and best places to live in the US and even the world on a few lists over the last 10 to 15 years. Even the 3 years I was gone I can see the massive growth. Population expected to almost double next 5 years statewide I heard. Good and bad news there. Love Boise and should do a proper blog about it later.

Anyway back to the move. Timing a long distance move is critical and something never fits in the schedule it seems. This time it was the moving truck. By the time I had my dates all aligned I only reserved the moving truck 5 days early. I really needed about a 20 foot truck but they called me the day before the move and said all they could give me was a 15 foot and a drastic discount on an enclosed trailer. I said ok and said I would try to get it all in the 15 foot before I picked up the trailer. I hate towing trailers and refer you to life skills up above lol Trying to stuff everything I own into that truck was a fucking nightmare. Long story short about 9 hours later i came to the conclusion that I needed that damn trailer. Finally got it all stuffed, did the walk through, and got the hell out of town. Heres another life skill. Driving a big moving truck and trailer in very windy conditions. That truck was heavy as fuck and stuffed to the max but the wind was still pushing it around like nothing. All you that have driven down the Columbia gorge know what I mean. All hail Mother Nature because your power is all inspiring.

First half was uneventful but after we gased up the vehicles and started out again we made one error. We didnt check fluid levels in my wife's BMW. I have spent $1200 dollars last few weeks in preparation for this move because I did NOT want to tow the car behind a 20 ft truck, like I thought I was getting. Good thing since the trailer ended up back there. We knew its been leaking coolant even with the fixes and sure enough shortly after we started up again it overheated. My wife immediately pulled over but by the time I noticed and stopped was close to a mile or two down the road. Heres the kicker....no cell service. You youngsters are used to your smart phones but be prepared in an emergency to not have access to it. Hope that stops and makes you think. Anyway I was starting to panic but needed to get to my wife. Left the truck there and started hoofing it back up the long hill I just came down, in a headwind no less. Luckily about 3/4 of a mile back up the hill my wife met me with the car. She's a smart one and got the car cooled and added more water while i was literally running up a windy road. That was a very stressful 25 minutes though. Life skill here....car repair. Know your vehicle in and out so you can recognize and deal with situations before they become catastrophic. If she wasnt so quick to realize what was happening could have blown up the whole car. Props to Lover. Shes the best.

Rest of drive was better but last hour or so was in darkness. That damn rental truck had shitty ass headlights too. Ended up driving with my brights on way more than usual. Got to town and then checked how the animals fared during the trip. Ludo the ferret was hungry and thirsty but ferrets handle things well. Slept most the trip from what I hear. Cats on the other hand never really travel well. Especially into a weird new environment. Siris is handling better then expected but Dusk is doing the typical cat freakout. She will settle down though.

Next morning we got a storage and unloaded everything. That never takes as long and miraculously nothing broke that we can tell. Still need to dig out some essentials while staying with family but mostly all settled. Hopefully we wont be here too long. Just getting some finances under control before we attempt buying our first house. This blog is getting rather long so I'll stop here and talk more later. Love you all and stay safe.

Much love Yaoth
