I`d take banter any day over `small talk`. Do you have any idea how small talk can weaken the brain?
Cold isn`t it?
Yes, it is isn`t it.
We never get the good weather in the UK
No we don`t.

Fuck popular modern music. yes indeed - it really. . . really bores the hell out of me, and even on here, i just don't go near teh boards anymore because it. . . rubs me up the wrong way. even band names now strike me as stupid, daft - and tell you exactly what you're getting without you having to listen to them.
still listening to blues? i stumbled across a leadbelly clip on youtube a while ago - before we could post youtube clips on here - and now, i can't bloody find it, but it was leadbelly sort of. . . wandering around the deep south countryside singing two or three songs, about ten minutes long. good stuff.
that van gogh painting is awesome. have you ever seen robert altman's 'vincent and theo' with tim roth as van gogh? i liked it a lot, and tim roth did a pretty decent job.
yeah, christmas this year will be spent in scotland - i think after my mother's 'i'm all alone' ramblings much of the time she was here, we were kind of lampooned into going, but it will be good to be back, and i kind of can't wait to go to edinburgh again, get a fish supper, and go out for a pub lunch. steak pie and chips
i've meant to get the strings EP for years - i had a taping of it way back when after borrowing the 12" from someone (art school, obviously) and it was really, really good - the songs it took from hips and makers it totally reinvented, making them deeper, more emotional, more intense. . . aye. she's good.
anyway, yeah, the arm and the shoulder are a little better than they were, and my sleep patterns are slowly returning to something resembling normality, which i'm quite happy about since in these days of being out of commission sofie has been rushing ahead and churning out little ink drawings that are all. . putting me to shame, she's on a roll and i'm like 'damn it, i want to paint'. . . impatience is something i'm just no good with.
yeah, i had ned neighbours back in dundee - in the three years i lived there before coming here, they came and went, probably something defined by losing their housing benefit and stuff like that (mwahaha), one of them had his television on 24 hours a day and would (i kid you not) play the drums (badly) while watching television, often at 11 o'clock at night. yeah, me and tayside constabulary got very well aquainted, and he didn't live there too long. . .
i'm not sure what kind of 'dug' we'll get, i'd frankly rather have a badger but i don't think that would exactly be legal, and we've never seen that one we saw in the woods on my birthday since, or any other - so we'll probably get something like a border collie. they're black and white, right? that's almost a badger. . .
tomten are. . . hmm, how do i even explain that? maybe i should send you to miss severus to ask. as much as i can explain it, swedes have tomten instead of santa claus, but also in general, that have been in folklore in scandinavia for aeons - they are a leprechaun like race, sort of like gnomes who live in the woods and they, not santa claus, bring children their christmas gifts.
aye. . .

aw man, whoever uploaded the Old Girlfriends clip must have taken it down. boo.
i tried posting the YouTube window itself in my recent journal rather than the link, but it wouldn't let me. that SG feature update must have been made in the last coupla days!
hats off to ya for the Bouville plug! should we tout it in the poetry/art groups too?

except when it rains
when above ground it's found
Made me smile
