i don't like fall and winter holidays. am i the only one? i don't like the guilt, stress and anxiety they bring. i used to love them. i would go all out for them but no one around me at the time cared. i wanted to create memories but it was met with apathy. and yes, it hurt. now, i don't bother. i want them over and done with as soon as possible like removing an adhesive bandage from a healing wound. now i look forward to january the 2nd, my holiday.

I wish there could be an "opt out" button on the holidays. Or an arrangement where it happens every other year. Even if I could make that agreement with my friends and family, I would still get holiday music blasted at me, holiday movies advertised, holiday shopping glitter everywhere.

I like new years day. That's when I stay home and clean the house. My lttile "get rid of the old year" ritual. A virgo thing.
