I have just watched a program about free-running which was amazing. I could hardly believe what I was seeing
.
Years ago I used to do nutty things, I spent years diving off things, mainly diving boards bit also a couple cliff and harbours, remember it was always into water. I once helped close a train door which was wide open, the train was travelling at about 60 mph, this involved me hanging half way out of the train holding onto a luggage rail on the inside and the door on the other side. I only did it because the train guard had started trying to close the door from the other side using a broom handle and he couldn't get the door closed because hte wind was keeping the door open.
MY point, I used to do these kind of things 14 years ago but i wouldn't dream of doing them now. I am scared of hights now and panic when just going up several flights of stairs.
I have friends who do rodeo kayaking which is really cool and the things they do are amazing. I panic know just when I put the front end of the boat in the water and try and get the back end up in the air.
I have done re-enactment for years and am considered once of the nutters who will charge into a room of twenty spearmen all of whom then they and hit you, we use metal unedged weapons so it hurts when you get hit and I have had about 15 concussion a broken upper jaw and several other injuries which have involved hospital treatment.
At one point I just didn't worry about these kind of thing, Now days tough I think that I was mad doing them and wonder what possessed me. The funnjy thing is people still tell me I do stupid things like that especially when sword fighting, but I don't notice it.
I wonder if I am the same as I was 15-20 years ago or if I am the same.
