I spent al day out at the SCA event. I realized this morning, much to my dismay, that not ONE of my authentic SCA or Living History costumes fits me! Nah, I read the first 1, and most of the second, but the movie came out before I could finish it. My parents dragged me to see it, despite my protests. Ah, well. I gave up after that, and waited for the films.

Yesterday I saw a spider on my kids' playset, along with LOTS of webs, so I got out my hose and sprayed the whole thing, hoping to get it all clean. OMG! I found 4 eggsacks. Three had hatched and one was being layed down. I made my husband pick up a can of bug-killer on his way home from work. (this is after going APESHIT on the playset with a hose and my right shoe) There were HUNDREDS of spiders, in various ages. Quite a few black widows. I know black-widdows are NOT social spiders. In fact, they're very territorial, and you're not likely to find one within 10meters of another. I got several spider-bites, but most if not all of them were from English Garden spiders. They're much the same as red-ant bites. Painful, itchy, but not deadly. I LOATHE ear-wigs, and found probably the same amount of them as I did of those gorram spiders. Then, on top of this all, I tried taking a nap and ended up having to kill a big ass beatle in my room that was buzzing around like a maniac. Scary shit. I emptied an entire bottle of Raid outside, and I think I breathed a bit of it in. Ewwww... I showered immediately afterwards and I think that was the best shower of my life. I felt like dead bugs (and live ones) and poison were running over my whole body and then washing down the drain.

Reading that just gave me the heebie jeebies... i can deal with beetles but earwigs and spiders i have a problem with. I'm rather freaked out about my coming trip to Madagascar in which i'll be spending 3 weeks in a tent in the wild and apparently Madagascar has more spiders and more species of spiders per square km than any other place on earth.. i'm having nightmares already.
