so our plans for coachella changed... quite drastically... but for the better. instead of going for BOTH days, sandy and i decided to just go for one. at first we couldn't decide which (awesome bands on both days)... finally we picked sunday and realized that saturday was sold out anyway. haaha. oh how i loveeeee procrastination. so we will be seing:

our main reason for picking sunday: belle & sebastian and the cure. woo woo. i'm kinda sad that we'll be missing a BUNCH of really good bands on sat, but that's what we get for being lazy. saturday's show overall is better, but sunday has the two most awesome bands there. so yeah. sunday it is.
and instead of coachella on saturday we decided we're still gonna leave around the same time (maybe a little earlier) and hang out in cali. i wanna go to the beach cuz i haven't ever been in the US... we're just gonna be dorks and take loads of photos n stuff. then we're gonna stay in a hotel in LA or somewhere like that, and drive a couple hours in the morning to get to coachella. stay somewhere far away from indio on sunday night and hang out on monday. that way (for both nights) we figured that we'd be able to find a hotel and wouldn't have to pay like $200 a night. hehe.
tis gonna be fun. i'm stoked. it's been absolutely forever since i went on even a small roadtrip. last time i went anywhere fun was to england... 2 years ago. blahhh.
yesterday i went to photomark and bought a bunch of chemicals cuz all my other ones had gone bad. last night after work i developed two rolls of film with NO bubbles. yay. one roll from our drunken escapades the other night and another roll from the fair/south mountain. tonight i reckon i'm gonna do some printing. it's been forever. i could seriously spend a week straight in my darkroom. well, besides getting REALLY sick from too much chemical exposure. haha.
my throat is really scratchy and sore. gross. i've been coughing a lot due to my asthma, and i think that's what caused it. nothing important. just annoying as heeeeelllll.
i've been looking at rob dobi's site a lot lately (www.robdobi.com). his photography is reaaaallllly rad. he traveled around finding a bunch of old abandoned psychiatric institutes and warehouses and photographed them. some of it is really creepy. his illustrations are awesome too.
oh and of course, his lessons on how to be emo. haha.
yeah so i've ultimately decided that i don't see enough of other people's work. i take pictures all the time... not all good ones... but not all bad. but i KNOW that i have a lot to learn (hence the wanting to go to school). what i do know is that i'd probably learn a lot just from looking at more people's work. so i've devoted a little time each day to do that. the crappy thing is, i see other people's stuff and i'm like "why DO i bother?" haha. oh the fun.
anyway. time to get ready for work. the most exciting part of the day. or not.
