I'm feeling stressed out as the summer wanes, but thank God that around here the sun is out again. It was beginning to feel like Fall was eclipsing Summer at an alarming pace. I am going to some Hot Springs up in Northern California to relax. I have a list of about ten major things I have to accomplish in the next month, none of...

Hey, thanks for the advice. I'll make sure I check those sites out. Not really a nudist but definitely looking to meet some easy going people. Don't really know a whole lot of people around the island

Aw, well Alameda has become a much more richie rich place than when I was a kid and the Navy was here. I kinda don't like how snobbish some people can be here -even to me, and my family has lived here three generations!! Let me just say that the best places to go out are probably the Swell Bar, Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge or Lost Weekend. I sound like I drink but I really don't very much. It just seems like these are some of the best social settings to meet people on the island. Otherwise there are a bunch of stuck up people down at the beach and at South Shore. It is hard to explain, but I just notice people are harder to get to know around here too, so it is not just you. Go to the Library too, because lots of interesting people have meetings there. When I go out in the Bay Area I almost never meet people from Alameda because they seem like they keep it to themselves or don't go out in the places I do...Maybe it is just me! You will probably do a better job!

I am against the subjectification of women. I must objectively state that I oppose subjectifying women in all cases! A woman should be seen objectively as the object she chooses to be. She should be afforded the right of making of herself whatever object she chooses. To subjectify women is to imply that only through a biased and warped perspective can a woman be attractive,...

xsntt - thank you this cleaver post. Sometimes the best way to deal with a social problem is by turning it on it's head and exposing the ridiculous. The term "objectification" has become rhetoric. The problem with rhetoric is that it allows a concept to be accepted without being understood. People need to understand the social problem of objectification. I think your post is very intelligent and you have opened this "subject" for further discussion.
xsntt:
Thanks so much, Mach! I'm glad you understood my angle on the whole thing. Yeah, there are too many buzz words and phrases we are taught not to question. I feel like this whole site questions the media image of what is attractive...Why not question what it means to be attractive?!! Why not question why people cannot CHOOSE to objectify themselves?! Maybe that is what turns them on. It doesn't mean you are NOTHING MORE than an object; it simply means that you are proud and able to enjoy being able to be seen from that perspective. Personally I LOVE it when my girlfriend objectifies me. I would like nothing more than to be the object of her desire. I don't want her thinking it is a subjective love she has for me. We are objectively best for each other!!!

Do you ever worry about losing your sense of where you came from?

I have gotten old enough that I have begun to grow hazy on some of my earliest memories. I know that my memories are still there, but just not always as accessible as they once were. It is not that I have forgotten anything, but rather that I have so many more...

I used to live in Santa Cruz, but now I live in Humboldt. I have family in Bonny Doon and would love to go hiking with you the next time I am in Santa Cruz biggrin

I am now for the first time, and hopefully the last, putting myself on a diet. I have never been particularly overweight, but it is not just about losing weight or looking good...I have taken to eating such crap for years now. As a railroad conductor and a musician, my schedule is always weird. This means I eat whatever I can find whenever I can...

Nothing so simple, but I did cut out 90% of the processed sugar from my diet a couple years ago. Along with exercising, I dropped about 50 lbs. It's amazing what that crap does to you without even knowing it... It's in EVERYTHING...
xsntt:
It really is in EVERYTHING!!! The only answer is to just eat ONLY what you cook yourself. I can control my beans and rice not having anything in them but beans and rice, but when it comes to anything prepackaged, you better believe it will NEVER be just beans and rice...

I've been playing hooky from work. I just can't stand to go back!! Fortunately I know all the tricks, so it has been awhile. I certainly won't make any money this half of the month!!! At my job I can "bump" onto different job schedules, so I keep getting on ones on their days off...

It is too beautiful a summer to not live in...

Feeling good today and loving summer weather. I think the other day the unreasonably overcast skies we had been having for the first week of summer were really getting me down. I realized that I really need heat and sun for my summers. I am a warm weather guy, though I am ironically very pale and nature clearly prepared my body type for a much...

Summer. How I miss thee !
Enjoy.

Ooooh, lovely velvet faerie, please sail me back to you in the land of Oz!!! I love Australia!!! I imagine it must be VERY different weather for you now. I miss Australia. I left there a few years ago, but I want to return for good!! I would take your culture over mine, even though my family has been on this continent about 400 years!

Beautiful Whiskey, I know that weather pattern too! I did archaeology in Britain for the 2000-2001 season and had to be out in it until my fingers froze (not joking) and I finally gave up. THAT was a helluvah winter that year. All the flooding...TOO much rain for me. My poor California sensibilities were shattered!!! It took years to recover!! Now whenever it rains I remind myself I was in London when it didn't stop raining for even a second in whole months. At least your country has intellectuals and it respects them!!

Today I feel ugly...It happens to guys too occasionally, it is not just a girl thing. I just looked at a bunch of photos of myself as I transferred them to my external hard drive, and I realized that I haven't taken any really good photos of myself for the better part of a year!! It is depressing. Maybe some of you insanely hot girls...

Alright, I am BACK!!!

I didn't feel right without a creative sexual outlet in my life. What makes this site NOT Facebook (corporate sell-out pigs that they are) is that we can be OURSELVES here. We can be proud of what makes us real people here, and ALL of what makes us who we are. I am not shy about my body or my sexuality,...

I wrote a song for every key
It isn't you, it isn't me
One size fits all, but it's never snug
-A giant Mu'umu'u like a rug
We sit together uncomfortably
In a home-spun prison of mediocrity
Until a primal force erupts from inside
Instinct for independence cannot be denied
A voice cries out, breaking into melody
In a cadence and rhythm rudimentary
Yet novel...
