well i was suppose to be off yesterday. instead i opted to go to work. big mistake.
the day was going ok. late to start. then started feeling down. while drilling the bottoms of windows to put magnets in for the security alram, which i've done thousands of times, i caught a snag. well the bit started "walking" on me. which means it wasnt just drilling straight up, it was moving towards me. keep in mind i was drilling upwards. well it walks to the edge of the window and with me pushing upwards on the drill, with much force, it starts to head towards my face. no time to react or anything, drill bit heading towards my eye. i feel it hit my eye. drop to all fours. start screaming fuck fuck fuck fuck. run to the bathroom look in the mirror. blood. and it's coming from my eyes.. my vision starts to blur. i cant see anything. i call for the guy i work with. "dale come quick NOW !" scream what happened to him. i'm panicking, i cant see anything out of my left eye. blood is still coming out of it. keeping my eye under the water. it feels like someone is scratching my eye out. i keep trying to look out of my eye. to see something.. still blurry. but i can see blurs.. start thinking, maybe i'm not going to be blind, maybe it's going to be ok. i stop with the water. the bleeding stopped. but the pain is almost unbearable. i cant keep my eye open. i cant even keep the good one open. i want so badly to rub it, but i know better. for the next hour i am freaking out. waiting to see the doctors. first doctor told me to go to an eye specialist. the eye specialist took some metal out of my eye, dilated my eyes and told me no scratches on my eyes. there is a cut on my upper eyelid on the inside of my eye. cuts on the outside of my bottom eyelid. and my nose has a cut on it. all of these places feel like i've ben punched in. my eye feels like someone punched me in it and then through sand in it. my nose feels like someone hit me in it. my eye is irritated and dry. but they said i will be fine. i was scared as shit i was going to lose my sight.
