there's a myriad of reasons people wind up being drug addicts, over-protective parents being one of them, but no more so than neglectful parenting or abusive parents.
it's hard to isolate one individual facet of a person's life that shapes them.

Thank you for commenting... "being overly protective" clearly is not the only thing a parent could do to cause upset in their childs life..during the time with them...or in the future..I do belive parents have a large role in how people end up later on in life though...they are the first influences of how to view the world and how to interact with it..and someone doesn't necessarily have to be an addict..I meant drug use in general ..in any destructive form...you don't have to be an addict to be in a destructive situation with them...but yes..there are many facets of a persons life...and they cannot be completley isolated at all..everything is interconnected in one way or another... right now I think I'm mainly looking at relationships with other people..and how they create the environment that surrounds you...
