I was riding on a concrete slab,
Down a river of useless flab
It was such a beautiful day
I heard a witchdoctor say,
Ill turn you into a toadstool
Im looking for the joke with a microscope
My muscles twitching on your words
If youre on the streets you lose your nerves
Divinity throws you a curve
Sticks you and then you go beserk...

I did have an awesome time in South Carolina; much drinking was involved. I don't know what I did to my knee, actually, which makes the length of this injury so annoying.
happy birthday to me.

The "Talk Nerdy To Me" button?
spamalot was wonderful. glad to have seen it. first time out of wisconsin since the wife's accident. went very well, though chicago has crappy accommodations for people in wheelchairs. the only 2 places to eat that we could find within walking distance of the theatre had stairs to get in, and neither had an accessable entrance. apparently the americans with disabilities act doesn't apply in...

"Do not look into fiber with remaining good eye."
This time around, I don't have a story of woe dealing with the loss of my eye, I just had to run a crapload of fiber through the building, and it's an old joke.

I may learn to be smart but I don't think i will ever learn to spell.
_surreal_:
no i know you weren't picking on me, it was just ironic because i really cant spell. usually I'm not too lazy to spell check so I'm good on here, but you should see me with out it.
i grew up with the Simpson's but didn't catch the reference, Ive been watching futurama too long.

ya know, it is possible to stub your toe hard enough to break it. never occurred to me that stubbing a toe was that big a deal. ahhh, well. ya learn something new every day. oh, yeah, i broke my toe yesterday.
havilah:
Ouch! Broken stuff is not good.
Oh yeah, and that customer was nothing but nice to me, but I'm fiercly protective of my employees. They don't get paid enough to put up with that crap.

Ouch. And that's the sort of thing your friends give you no sympathy for either: "Man, you broke your toe from stubbing it? That was dumb." Sorry 'bout that, hope you're recovering.
statistically, there is no increase in dropping your toast butterside down over butterside up. i'm guessing that you believe that all pieces drop butter side down because you forget the ones that you don't lose, and remember the ones that you have to throw away and re-make.
of course, it might just be because i dropped my toast with peanut butter and now i need...

thanks for the tip. I do have Prevacid, which works wonders, but I find that eating a healthier diet works wonders and I rarely need the meds anymore.
holy jebus. never knew that cyclobenzaprine (trade name flexeril) gave such a nasty hangover. really sad considering that it's no fun to take.
way behind on looking at the new sets. gonna hafta spend some time catching up. you'd think that i'd have lots of time to look since I'm still mostly flat on my back, but apparently not.
in any case, finished about 1/2 of the larry niven collection over the last couple days. is amusing just how much of 60s sci fi actually came true.

wife got tix for spamalot in chicago for my bday. should be a good time (i've been addicted to python since the late 70s). since she's in a wheelchair, we had to get accessable seating. this meant that even though we're close to the end of the run, we got 3rd row center seats, and the pair was less than 1 much worse tic through...

havilah:
Sorry to hear about the bulging discs.
I guess my shyness was less about a stranger and more about my friends sitting nearby.
