just short of 2 weeks later, and she's turned the corner. looks like she'll live. there was more than a little concern about that, and to be honest, a week ago, i was certain that she wouldn't. it's been an exhausting time, though, and i'm glad that it's over. (3 cheers for vancomycin and rifampin.) thanks to all for the good wishes, both public and private.

in other news, i'm now a multimillionaire. never seen a check that big before. likely never will again. is weird as hell. of course, i'd give it all back for the life that i had before the accident, but at least i'll never hafta worry about how sandy'll get along if i get sick, etc.
