Was lounging around last night (after putting my wife to bed), thinking about places that I've been. England, Scotland, Ireland, Denmark, France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxumbourg, Germany (though it was West Germany one of the times), Switzerland, Monoco (though it was just in passing), Italy, Poland, Mexico, Canada, 35 of the 50 states (though to be honest, most of the states were just passthroughs). Travel used to be one of my passions, but I've come to the conclusion that since my wife's accident, it's unlikely that we'll ever get to leave the state again.
I know that anyone reading this will be thinking "what a whiner, he's bragging about the places that he's gone, waawaa if he never gets to go again." In some ways, I think that as well. I've had the luck to be able to do so many things. It's kind of odd to be pining for more. Ahhh, well, no sense crying over spilled milk, but it would be nice to see the Cinque Terre or Pompei, Beijing or Singapore, the Taj Mahal or the Pyramids of Giza. Hell, just floating down the Rhine with a bottle of wine in hand.
Instead, I'll try and find a way to pay for a new door, opener, and ramp in back so that if something happens, she doesn't die.

Chin up! You are not a whiner but a Saint, that is what care givers are!
