So apparently i have the SG Tex with various touring SG's gallery
Caught the Burlesque show in Denton on Monday night. Ran into a bunch of SGDFW group folks including xcdat, xcdat, xcdat, spaceboy, twistymisty, sillyokio ,sapiens, allycat_13, SG Ella, and JessicaLea.
if i missed anybody. I'm sorry. Enjoyed the show. Liked it better than the DVD of the first tour. Easily worth the price of admission. I enjoyed the choreography, performances and the girls are all gorgeous. While i enjoyed all the performances i have to say i really liked the one Chloe did to Portishead's "Glory Box" and the one they did to Peaches "Fuck the Pain Away." Theres a strict NO PICTURES rule during the show but was able to take photos after the show. All the SG's seemed really nice and we willing to autograph just about anything. Got to talk to Fractal and Chloe briefly. Hope the rest of the tour goes well for them.
God, i could have at least smiled better. This is why i work behind a camera. I should rmember that.

So I spent this weekend in Austin for a photojournalism conference.
i like to go to then for a bit a creative recharge and i haven't been to one in a while.
Wasn't able to join the SGDFW folks at Axis for the Genitorturers show since i was on the road. So i caught the show in Austin instead. Dragged a few friends of mine from the conference.
Wasn't sure if i'd get to shoot but i brought my camera anyway. Unfortunately i only had two 256mb CF cards on me since i wasn't expecting to be successful. Dumb ass me. So as the show started i slowly but surely made my way into the front...or as close as i could get. Once the band got started i knew i wasn't gonna get to stay there long before the pit spit me out. I was not massive enough to maintain my spot in front of the pit and i feared for my $1500 camera with the $700 lens on it once the crowd started moving. But i did manage to get some decent stuff. Found it hard to shoot things in focus under low light and a moving crowd. I guess i have been spoiled by the large venue shows where i don't have to deal with it. Got kind of a rush out of it though. Unfortuantely, i ran out of space on my CF cards before the really cool theatrics started.
