Talk abouit contrast.
My first assignment for the paper today was a spot news fatal car accident involving two cars The driver of one of the vehicles died on scene. The other driver is in the hospital. I don't like covering car accidents. It makes me feel ghoulish and the cops can sometimes be jerks because they thinik i want photos of blood and dead bodies. We can't run those photos. The paper has a "breakfast rule." The cops and police put up large sheets while they cut the body out of the first car. Family of the now deceased driver kept showing up and reacting emotionally. Made me sad to watch even i raise my camera to my eye to capture the emotion. I feel the same way when i have to cover funerals.
The camera becomes a barrier between me and whats happening. Insulating me a little from it so i can do my job.
Starting off the day with a fatality made it a bit wierd to have to go photograph circus clowns visitng children at a library right after that.
Maybe more later. I have a lot to do today....
So it turns out the person killed in the accident was a single mom who graduated from high school just last week. She was apparently coming home early in the morning after finishing work. They had a memorial service for her at the high school.
The rest of the day went ok. had to shoot a ballet rehearsal and a portrait of two firefighters who were recently engaged. I'll probably post photos of the ballet rehearsal when i get around to it.
Hope everyone is well.

I dropped it off in person at the place a couple weeks ago.
