Two mornings ago, I was still in Valpo, which is where my parents live. I was trying to sleep through at least the early morning hours of the hangover I might potentially have, when my step-mom suddenly burst into the room, and informed me that I had to rush to Chesterton (about twenty minutes away) to one of my dad's properties. Apparently, the water company was about to show up there, and they needed to be let in.

I quickly got dressed and went out into the garage. I opened the motorized garage door opener, pressed the button to close it, and tried to run out before it had a chance to close on me. Our garage is a bit more complicated than that, though. It has one of those laser sensor things that can tell when something is in the way of the door closing, and doesn't allow the door to go down on that particular something. So, in order to close the door from the inside and run out before it has a chance to close, you have to do this goofy sort of step over where the laser runs, so that the door doesn't go back up. I tried this once and failed. I wasn't fast enough. That annoyed me. I wasn't about to be made a fool of by the door again, so I decided to run faster the next time. I pushed the button and made a mad dash for the door, dodging around all the obstacles my parents always seem to have lying all over the garage floor. As I dodged the last object, I hit a patch of wet pavement (from the previous night's rainfall), lost my footing, and my feet flew out to my right. I landed hard on my left shoulder, and hit my head.

The next thing I remember is finding myself driving somewhere in downtown Chesterton, having no idea where I was going, and having no recollection of how I'd gotten there. Obviously, this was a pretty frightening experience. I vaguely remembered drinking the night before, and wondered if I was still drunk.

After I pulled over, sat there for a few minutes, and freaked Tony and Justin out by calling and asking them what I was doing in Chesterton, I was able to remember. I found the house I was supposed to go to, only to figure out that my step-mom had been mistaken, and my dad had made other arrangements for the water guy to get in. He'd already been there.

Hey, I heard your band on the "plug your band" thread. Very, very good. How can I get a copy of your album?

Sounds like a good idea. Also, I saw that you listed FBR and Lobster on your links page. Are you guys connected with either label? ...just asking 'cause some very close friends of mine were on both labels throughout their history as a band.
