PARIS
They had a national transportation strike, so when we showed up, the train station was desolate. There were even soldiers walking around with automatic rifles! Since there was no metro, we walked 4km to our hotel... Then we jumped on the bikes (Paris started a city wide bicycle lending program) and saw everything! I took a shit ton of ton of pictures, which I will probably be posting the best up on myspace.
I'm pretty sure France is the home of the perfect nose, I'm sure I saw about 30 models...
We had awesome French food; roasted rabbit, some crazy rabbit appetizer, fresh croissants, baguettes, creme brulee, and great red French wine .
AMSTERDAM
So, in Amsterdam, I got stoned out of my gourd, off of a single joint. I can't remember the last time I was that stoned. The price for a single G of Heaven Haze was 12 euros, or like 18$... Coffee shops are on every single fucking corner, it's almost ridiculous. No, it is ridiculous!
The Red Light district is also ridiculous, people is the US are way to hung up on things like this. People go in and out of the girls windows and nobody is embarrassed or even cares that they're doing it. Europeans are much more understanding of human needs and bodily functions.
I saw an Ajax soccer game too! Unfortunately they tied 0-0, but they played a great game, including the goalie stopping a penalty kick. We were right next to the hooligan section and they were very entertaining; flags, fight songs, and flairs. Best part, you can take anything you want into the arena except glass bottles. So they're were groups of people my age carrying grocery bags with 3-7 cans of Heinekens, just drinking them on the walk to the game.
I don't think anybody I know could last more than a few days in that city without causing trouble, ending up in the hospital, or becoming so fatigued you can't move.
Just two more days left in Lueven, then I should be home Wednesday...
