Well, needless to say, shits getting crazy in Montreal. And I'm not entirely upset about it. I want this to be an event to make a change I so naively believe in.
yes i agree. i also believe its about QUebec societal values, collectivist values. Quebec has always valued equality and access to education. its not about cheap education, its about high student debt. Quebecers have much lower income have other citizens in Canada and so we rack up high student debt regardless of the fact that we still have the lowest tuition.
but you are right, it is well known all around the country that Quebec is the most corrupt province, so it is not surprising to me that students are not tolerating it any longer with their/our money especially for our education.
What annoys me is how people just don't want to pay taxes, and they think lower tuition means higher taxes, but in the end, higher tuition means higher debt and student loans and bursaries and therefore just as much if not more taxes. Face the music, we pay tax. But be aware how the government spends its money.
