I did it, don't hate me.
vkeithv:
well, champion was a no-show. fuck them!
i'm not sure if they showed for the denver show, but i didn't go to that one because of work. tonight's show was ok (agnostic front, death before dishonor and full blown chaos-all of which are ok). but nobody showed up and all the hc kids were so on edge that any punk kid that set foot on the floor was getting pounded. when did it get this bad? fuck these kids. fuck hardcore. just a bunch of fucking retarded meatheads have seizures and calling it dancing.
i thought being tough went out with one life crew and integrity. nobody looked like they were having fun. fuck it. i'm bringing a bat next time, i'll be the only one left standing.

(in snobby, debutante voice) Tonight, I will be attending festivities of the musical nature in the city of Dallas. This will be called as such a "hard core showing" of nationally and locally traveling musical groups The Red Chord, My Son My Executioner, and They Call Him Destoyer. I will be escorted by the lovely Miss Caitlin for she would very much so like to...

not a bad idea.
i'm sure everyone is thinking i have some internet stalker (which is obviously the case!)
George Michael is not, wait, nevermind.

anyhow, i would get on AIM but i'm at the library (with people watching me look at naked sg's no less) and am getting ready to leave.

we'll fight another time.

STOP STALKING ME!
xposingxpinupx:
what with your new found sexuality and all I thought you might know this person.

I was in the shower this morning and I think if I was to start a band, it'd have to be a hardliner hXc band. Even came up with the name (if it hasn't been taken already): A Call For Blood.

I was thinking that the scope of the songs would be centered around hardline straight edge and animal rights philosophy, kinda like Earth Crisis...

I remember I got into punk rock because of the message and urgency, and eventually I got into hardcore because of the focus of things that truly mattered: friends, family, and self. Punk led me to point fingers at everything but didn't solve anything, nor did it present any kind of solution, just nihilistic hopelessness. Hardcore was different. There was a message, there was a undying faith and belief in yourself and what truly mattered. It was about self-preservation through adversity. It was about strength through wounding. It was about never saying "die."

so damn true. i went to a show last night, all fashion core. and the kids there could care less that "the international noise conspiracy" had anything to say. btw, super rad punk band from sweden...everything is better in sweden.

I went out to the Pale Horse/Curb Check/Thieves show last night and it was pretty fun. Not a big turnout, especially since it was Wednesday night, but at least "all of the hardcore scene that mattered" was there. biggrin The first touring band came out all metal-hybrid style like Himsa and were pretty impressive, even though the singer was a "John Petti-clone" with a cauliflower ear....

oh, it's around, i'm just too busy to look for it. we get tons of shows, but it's usually more of the string cheese incident crap because that's what most of this state is into.
denver not too bad and at walls, we had a good turn out.
metal is much bigger here than hardcore, which is cool...i guess.
vkeithv:
know what you mean. it was a lot of when i lived in indianapolis/chicago-the scene was amazing and we were always driving to cleveland (integrity) and syracuse for the height of earth crisis and all those bands. i guess i'm wishing it was that way again. but with the way it's all changed (music, style, thoughts, people in general-that was 10 years ago) it won't. so i need to accept or make it the way i want.
for now, i'll take the shows i can get and then book the ones i want later. so, champion next week, terror in a month. it's getting better here, the scene is just young and spread out.
hopefully i can fix that!

So I am now officially done with my spring semester of college. I now need to register for the maymester retake of College Algebra and possibly another class. There's a Curb Check show tonight at the Red Blood Club in Dallas. That'll be a celebration of 2 semesters down towards my associates of arts degree and ultimately my bachelor's of business degree.

Throwdown, "Declare Your...

So, that's 3 finals down and 1 more to go. Well, really, 1 to actually fail and move on to the "maymester" retake of College Algebra. frown

There's been a little bit on my mind, mostly concerning Caitlin, but that's about it. It's just little things she says and does that makes me question her feelings about me and the sincerity of them all. Of course,...

I really have to get my ticket. I have to go to jersey to see it. You would think that it would go somewhere near NYC. Whatever.

One final down, three more to go!

The Philosophy final wasn't as bad as I thought it was. It sucked that only a handful of the class showed up (myself included). It makes me wonder that most of them were failing the class and didn't bother to show up, or they just didn't get the time right. I'm ranked 8th in that class and I...

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! kiss biggrin

I called mine and thanked her for not having an abortion over 23 years ago. eeek I have that kind of sick humor with my mom and we just laugh, cause we're cool like that. I love my mommy and she's like my best friend. You'd be weirded out if you saw me and her together. It's...

yeah, that's a bit odd in the relationship department, but it's good that you're so close.

hopefully you don't hit as hard as bam though.

So last night I wound up going out to Dallas for yet another hardcore show. It was Curb Check and Darc Marc & The Balls Out Gang along with this other band, Pardon The Silence, and some metalcore band from Laredo.

Nothing else much new. I found out where I can buy that "Kill Your Local Drug Dealer" straight edge tshirt from Graham (who incidentally...

clearing that 21 mark was a good feeling. after that, it became much easier. i'm not sure why, there are just as many pressures, but i guess more people seem to be ok if you don't drink. odd.

good luck with the shirt.

in real life the truck is fine, gotta get the ac refrigerant recharged though. just so much depends on your ride. it'd suck not to have one. gotta take care of them. they take you to work, to school. to the grocery store, to a show and to wherever else. ya i'd cry in real life if something happend to it. fuck that you dont fuck with another mans ride.

Next week I have 4 finals to take. This summer I have to retake Algebra and register for a class or two. I'm gonna do whatever I can to finish college as fast as I can.

Right now I'm on this website, listening to an audio documentary of straight edge by the BBC. It's pretty cool; has commentary from Ray Cappo (Youth of Today),...
