After reading some of my friends' journal entries, I'm tempted to follow suit and list the highlights of my year by month.
January: returned from Japan, went on a cabin trip with my then girlfriend, Shannon
February: Shannon spent a week with me for her vacation
March: learned why people hate working for VAQ-129
April: still hating 129, broke up with girlfriend in anticipation of separation from navy (better early on than too late and too painful)
May: VAQ-128 decommissions (I was a side honor in the ceremony), went back to 129 to work
June: sent to work at Pod Facility instead (long story); 15JUN-terminal leave starts, next day got lip pierced in celebration
July: decided staying in Washington wasn't working out and Texas was the easy option
August: 1AUG-SOIA/Terror/Champion (last show in Seattle), 5AUG-flight of shame home to Texas, 13AUG-END of ACTIVE OBLIGATED SERVICE!!!
September: started college at Tarrant County College, met Meaghan then she flaked out weeks later
October: met Whitney, 16OCT-Ridglea Metal Fest and my birthday
November: things fall apart with Whitney, give Meaghan her second/last chance only to be proven a fool
December: saw Hatebreed for first time, first Christmas with family in 3 years
Not too much of a year, but these are just highlights. I have way more memories/stories/exploits/sucesses/failures than what I've given.
