Janumarch continues. I'm hungover.

I ordered some CDs today:

Luna-Bewitched (lost it along the way)
Mono- Formica Blues
Natacha Atlas- Best Of

I need some aural stimulation.

It is that dead Winter zone here. Everyone mopes around all day until they get drunk in the late afternoon. I call this Janumarch-- You just stay blotto from January until the end of March. Then you take a 2 week rest when you swear off booze. . . . until you feel spring and the clothes start coming off.

I had a retail therapy...

shit, you ain't the only one. There hasn't been too much snow here in nyc, but I know it's coming. I wish I could escape from here
brooklynbabe:
nope. the few friends I've made since I moved back aren't into those kinds of things. The only places I've made plans to go to are the museum of sex and a few clubs. confused

The weekend involved an intense Friday night followed by a couple days of recovery. Saw the movie DIG! about the Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Dandy Warhols. Hilarious, until it got really boring. Then watched Sex & Lucia, which I didn't make it all the way through either, even though it had some fun sex scenes. My attention span has gone down since getting netflix....

It is Friday, which in Wisconsin means FISH FRY. While I'm generally over fried fish, there are a couple of places that do blue gill. There is also a really trashy bar outside of town that has fish fry and karaoki at the same time. Disturbing in the best possible way. I might have to go.

Last night I sold my huge over stuffed leather...

That sounds lovely- I have a weakness for white furniture.

The squirrels have disappeared. Maybe I was just too drunk to hear them. This is going to be a long day.

They make butt plugs that have feathers on them. Or horsehair. Or a litle rabbit tail puff. Hilarious.
mikako:
Nope, just the front.

I watched broken flowers last night. I was excited to finally see it. It was absolutely wretched: unbelievable, trite, derivative, coarse. One boring supposedly-funny-ironic scene after another. Irony is so 90s. Stop it.

I don't have mice in my apartment, I have squirrels. Squirrels.
trixie:
I was terribly disappointed in that movie as well.

If you have real squirrels in your apartment you would be my hero. I'm obsessed with squirrels.
mikako:
I would let you borrow my cats to deal with your infestation but they would do alot more damage then the squirrels. Lure them outside with peanuts and corn, the ones our neigbors have love that mix. Yes my neighhbors have squirrels, 6 to be exact.

I'm having a hard time adjusting to work after a three day weekend (MLK). It has been unseasonably warm and maybe that's why there are mice in-between the floors over my head. It wouldn't bother me except that they squeak exactly when I'm trying to go to bed. My apartment is great, but old. I might try to buy a house. I'm looking at one...

I finally saw the Dreamers by Bertolucci. While it did have some memorably scenes, I found it pretty brittle. I couldn't get over Matthew Pitt's limp acting. I also couldn't feel the fervor of the times or the relationship between the characters. I agree, it had all the elements of a great, passionate, film but they just didn't deliver. I was also immensely annoyed that...

I went out last night. It was good to see people after more than a week away. I found out a close friend had a grand mal seizure the day after New Years. Apparently sleep deprivation is a major trigger. A little scary. Now I'm hungover and tired.

I saw my ex last night. The really REALLY awful one. She was making drama with her...

I went grocery shopping last night. Then I cooked some red Thai curry. Just as I was finishing dinner, my friend called to see if I wanted to go to an all-you-can-eat mussels supper.

I finally signed up for netflix yesterday. My first movies are Dreamers, Sherman's March, and Let it Come Down: The Life of Paul Bowles (continuing my obsession with going to Morocco)....
