Day 10 - October 10th
Kaiju
1) Who is your favorite kaiju?
Gojira. I grew up watching a lot of Godzilla films.
2) What was your first introduction to the giant monster genre?
I don't remember which Godzilla or when it was, but it was definitely Godzilla and probably in my pre-teens. I can't remember if I saw anything earlier or not. 🤷♂️
3) Best kaiju versus match (on film or in your head)?
Honestly, the simplest and most popular is still the best. Godzilla vs Kong.
4) Your town/city was just attacked by a kaiju. Be honest, did everyone deserve it?
Probably not. We're a small sleeper community with nothing going on. There isn't high crime, pollution, or any major problems that might call for mother nature's reckoning.
5) You're about to battle a kaiju. You create a mecha-kaiju to fight it off. You just created Mecha-?
I still love Gojira, so a Mecha-Gojira would be badass. A Mecha-Kong would be really awesome so it would be very close and possibly take first place given a real opportunity to create and pilot him.
6) King Kong – antagonist, protagonist, or just misunderstood neutral party trying to find love?
Taking him to somewhere he didn't belong caused him to go wild and become destructive. He's more of a protagonist by nature, but humans tossed him into a world he didn't belong and turned him into the misunderstood force of nature. He's a good guy. He really is.
7) Eight Legged Freaks: Most people hate insects, it's true. What the worst case scenario giant insect you would hate to face off against for survival?
Spiders. For sure!
8) It's time to test your sweet tooth. What giant Empire State Building size candy bar would you be happy to snack on for the rest of your mortal life?
Dark Chocolate Milky Way... maybe? It would definitely be a dark chocolate and I have some alternatives readily available. I'll stick with this choice for now.
9) Would you rather face a single giant creature or an entire pack of creatures not knowing what it will be until giving your choice (land, sea, or air)?
Pack of creatures. I feel like I might have a slight chance of survival then.
10) Godzilla vs Kong: Everyone has a favorite in this particular match. What's yours?
Godzilla would annihilate everyone and everything with his atomic breath. They downplay it's power even in the movies at times and it would leave a massive hole in Kong.
11) Meg, Jaws, and various other giant sharks have terrorized seafarers for decades. Do you have a fear of sharks, the water, or any other related phobia?
I don't hate sharks, but I do have a fear of the unknown. I don't really like being on the ocean when I can't see what's below. Sharks are okay. Clear water is awesome. Dark waters with not much visibility creeps me out.
12) Rampage: You get to play the part of a destructive kaiju taking revenge on a city full or horrible people. What form do you take?
Let's go with lizard like Godzilla. Generic and it might be cool to be closer to a human like a gorilla or take up some other form, but I stick to the basics in the video game and in real life.
13) Jurassic Park: Dinosaurs aren't exactly kaiju because they're not as tall and lived during a different time period. How terrifying would it be if your town became overrun by hundreds of these giant thunder lizards?
They would wreak havoc. There may be many misunderstood omnivores or herbivores, but taking them out of an environment they're used to by nature would cause them to create chaos in the modern world.
