One of the best/worst aspects of Aspergers Syndrome is that once my mind is set on something, I se it througheven if it doesnt make all that much sense at the time. Ive been so ill lately that Ive been losing sleep, but Ive been looking forward to this free alldayer since I was handed a flyer for it coming out of Grief back in October.

Trippy Wicked: Kind of like Grand Magus but with less annoying vocals, the singer talking like Phil Anselmo between songs I could do without though, decided to leave and get a coffee to help my throat feel better.

Deathskulls: This is a pleasant last minute addition to the bill (even if Armed Response Unit and Moloch pulled out). Their style swings between fast Thrashcore and youre typical EBD (Essex Beatdown for those of you who werent into UK Hardcore in the early 2000s) Mosh parts. Their set feels like it ends all too soon but getting to sing along to Come To Buck You Down I cant really complain.

Rise Of The Simians: The Weedeater style riffs I like, the Lamb Of God style vocals I dont. I go to the kebab shop down the road for some chips.

Flowers Of Flesh And Blood: I feel like such a flaming arsehole, Keith came up earlier in the day and tried to speak to me, but me ailing from cold, lack of sleep and me just not being generally talkative I wasnt good for conversation. I missed most of their set at The Ivy Leaf so Im glad I came early to see their whole set including an MDC cover and two Minor Threat songs (Keith changing the words to Filler to you call it Straight Edge, youre full of shit). Their performance clears my sinuses, I was contemplating leaving after Witchsorrow but I decide not to let my cold stop me from enjoying the rest of the day.

Witchsorrow: Definitely deserved to be higher up in the bill, easily the best performance of the day so far, even if the drummer kept fucking up. There were calls for him to be replaced with a drum machine Ive worked with a drum machine before says Nick you only have to punch information into it once.

Sick To Death: Volatile Anarcho Punk, political rants, their own renditions of Fight War, Not Wars by Crass and Nazi Punks Fuck Off by Dead Kennedys (we have written our own Anti-Fascist song but its not ready) and the singer bounding over the banister in front of the stage, smashing a pint glass on the floor in the process to start shoving people, sending me through the fire escape next to the stage, good stuff.

Dead Existence: Progressive Sludge Metal? Kind of like Burst meets Southern Rock, an odd combination, I like.

Hand The Bastard: Fuck me were they good, not so typical sounding Metalcore like Integrity meets The Legacy. A fight brakes out in the pit during the set. The guitarist from Sick To Death was doing the sound all day, I saw this written amongst his notes for sound levels.

Centurions Ghost: Their first show as a four piece after their second guitarist left after the tour with Converge last year we were looking for another guitarist but we figured Fed was man enough to handle it herself and she proves it by soldiering on through the set with blood pouring from her index finger after cutting it two songs into the set. Weve had two solid albums from this band but listening to the new stuff theyve written it seems like their best is still to come. Im so glad I stayed now.

takeahnase:
Sounds like quite the day, man. Ain't been to a punk gig in fuck knows how long, nearest I had was Today Is The Day and that was bout a year ago.
