So Nan's funeral has come and gone, a very emotionally charged day, Auntie Pauline kept whipping her eyes sitting in front of me all through the service. There was a lot of Jesus and hymns in the service that I wasn't too keen on ("blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted" does that even need to be said?) but I found some of the biblical quotes interesting and people getting up and talking about their memories of Nan was good. Mum nearly broke down in tears mid sentence after the casket was lowered into the ground. It was awkward seeing all these family members I haven't seen in a good year, most of the women on Mums side greet by kissing hello and I'm not used to such open displays of affection. The family is adamant that we are going to keep having family reunions on Nan's Birthday (well it's my Birthday too, apparently I was Nan's favourite because I was born on her Birthday), we may even go abroad next year.

Thursday: This is me trying to show some restraint and I still managed to spend over a hundred pounds on records. I go up to Second Layer Records in Highgate, looked for some Jandek but all they had was a live CD, picked up the audiobook of Fight; everything you ever wanted to know about ass-kicking but were afraid you'd get your ass kicked for asking by Eugene S. Robinson, I meant to get the actual book before looking for this but I like hearing him talk on his radio show every week and there's extra stuff on this that isn't in the book. Went down to Camden, went in All Ages Records picked up some 324, War All The Time, H20, Aus Rotten, Crass, F.P.O. and splits by Fuck Hate Propaganda/H8-Target, Patient Zero/FKAS and Radio Alice/Voorhees. Went up the street to the second hand place, thankfully they didn't have much picked up some Asbestosdeath, Battle Of Mice, Oxbow, Romeo Must Die and an early Coalesce seven inch upstairs then went down to the Hip Hopo section and got Aesop Rock and Sole & the Skyrider Band. Got something to eat and drink then went down to Soho to doss around for a bit then went back up to Camden, had a drink and read for a bit in The Worlds End then got in line outside The Underworld. Picked up Hate XXX Edge's album from the Ruction distro on Knuckledust's merch table.

Knuckledust: Hid by the side of the stage and took pictures while avoiding Moshing arseholes. Managed to scream sort of near the mic during 25 Years Dead.

Wisdom In Chains: Surprised me by being not shit like their name suggested. Sounded like Death Before Dishonor with less Mosh parts and more melody. Would have bought a CD but I'd already spent too much fucking money.

Sick Of It All: I had a thought early, this is my what Twentieth time seeing them, do I really need to see a band that many times? It isn't even a question, I find out they're touring I buy tickets, some day I will miss them (they're likely to play Reading this year and I wont be able to afford a ticket off eBay). They play a lot of the old favourites while throwing in a few lost classics (The Bland Within, the cover of Borstal Breakout by Sham 69). I managed to get some really good pictures, I may bring my digital camera to more shows.

Yes, I remembered that the Victoria line closes during the week after ten, went down to Embankment and got the Circle and District line from their. Got my tofu and noodles and found a comfortable seat on the train, read for a while, got off at Chatham and took a taxi home.
