Friday: My computer came out of the shop an hour before I left the house for Rochester train station. I've become so blas about going to London that I didn't properly realise I was there until I got off the tube at Oxford Circus. Went to Sister Ray, picked up a Subtle album and a Why? EP. Got harassed by touts for Arctic Monkeys tickets when I walked past the Astoria on my way to the book shops. Went up to Camden, got a bottle of pineapple juice at Marks & Spencer's then something to eat at the Vegan Thai place. Hardly anyone around The Underworld, they wound up only opening it at half capacity. Waited around Acid King's merch table to buy some stuff, I was told by the girl promoting the show that they were upstairs getting food. Eventually they came down and who should get behind the merch table but Lori herself (she may be getting on a bit but she has a sleeve tattoo so I have no choice but to think she's hot), bought three CDs off her at 12 each (kind of a rip off but I'm happy to support the band), gave me a free Acid King sticker (fanboy, came everywhere).

Old Crone: Kinda cool and psychedelic, two of them had beards like they should have been in Iron Monkey. Some old guy came up to me afterwards and asked if I was going to see Subhumans at Tufnell Park the next night as he'd recognised me when they played at the Mean Fiddler. Love to go but I doubt if I could afford it.

Black Cobra: One guy with a guitar singing and another playing drums, they were like Winnebago Deal on Angel Dust, felt like they damn near took my head off. Tried standing at the front but like the Torche/Baroness show I couldn't hear the vocals over the distortion, had to move further back o hear them properly. Picked up their 7" after they were done.

Acid King: Surprised to find out the guitarist from Black Cobra was the bass player in Acid King. They opened with an instrumental song I didn't recognise then played three songs in a road I knew from downloading their stuff, from where I was standing at the front I couldn't hear Loris vocals that well but still sounded like sex to me. In the fifty minutes they were onstage they only played about seven or eight songs, that's good enough.

Went to Victoria, got pineapple chunks and orange & mango juice at Mark's & Spencer's then got on the train to Chatham. Went to the Tap, found Ollie and a bunch of his friends, saw Zoey. Got bored after an hour so I left for chips and a taxi, watched Robot Chicken and Chappelle's Show.

Saturday: Took a walk to Rochester just to have something to do, just as I was approaching the bridge a group of Chavs with a couple of older blokes drinking White Lightning were going the other way. One of the guys with White Lightning starts talking to me about my tattoos and a couple of the Chavs asked me questions, they were surprisingly nice. Started walking to the Tap after eight, a lot warmer than it was last week. Tap was fucking empty, no one there I knew to hang out with. Spent just over an hour there (felt like an hour too long) and vowed never to go there on a Saturday unless I knew there would be someone else there, found a flyer for a show at the Command House with some decent local bands next Saturday. Went into the Kebab shop and got a large chips as I was depressed, the guy behind the counter asked me about my tattoos and told me he was planning on getting one, first time I've actually had a proper conversation with the people who work there. Got a taxi home, watched Heroes, an old episode of Room 101 and Dumplings (note: watching a subtitled film when you are falling asleep hurts your head).
