Friday: Got my shopping in Chatham today instead of Saturday, on the bus home there was a guy checking peoples tickets. He just glanced at most peoples tickets except two Asian people, whose tickets he took out of their hands, held up and scrutinised whether they had paid the right amount, he took his time with my ticket too, I hate people. Met Chris at the Tap then we left for the Manor. Waiting outside where a load of Chavs asking people if they could sign them in, met up with Ollie and his friend then we went inside. So the Manor has got its late licence back but the problem is, its still the Manor. The music was still shit but the atmosphere was a little better than previous weeks. Left about half eleven in time to see Kato holding back another bouncer from getting into a fight with a group of Chavs. Got into the Tap and went to the Top floor, finally spoke to that short fit blonde girl with the lip piercing, we exchanged names (hers is Cat if I remember correctly) then there was an uncomfortable silence, she asked if I wanted to dance, I said I dont really dance, she asked if I minded if she did and left, thought that would be the last Id see of her that night but after one song she was back, to another uncomfortable silence then a guy she knew came up and I made an escape to the toilet, saw her walking around a little after that but after one am I didnt see her anywhere. Got depressed and wandered around the Tap while everybody else danced on the top floor, couldnt take anymore at ten to two and left for a portion of chips and a taxi home. Waited til the meter hit 9 so I could give the guy a 10 and tell him to keep the change and walk the rest of the way home to help clear my head and think of things to say if Cat ever speaks to me again.

Saturday: Billy Bragg album came through the post a few days earlier than Tesco had told me theyd send it out (lets hope the same for the Blood Duster EP). Ate Lunch and went straight up to London, got my ticket for Fantmas and Melvins then went to Berwick Street and got some CDs (Shipping News, Your Enemies Friends, Crass) then up to Camden for more CDs (F-Minus, Scissorfight) and something to eat. Went back down to Soho and sent a text to Mills asking if he was in London yet, no reply so I went to the Mean Fiddler and got in line, met Mills inside with Black Metal Nick and his friend Dave, bands:

Onslaught: Hadnt really heard them before but I was really impressed, good old school Thrash Metal and entertaining to watch too. They introduced a new member of the band, who had short hair and some guy standing behind me yelled GROW YOUR HAIR strange when you live in an area where all the rock people have to deal with GET A HAIRCUT yelled at them everyone in a while (I even got it once from a drunk Chav in the Manor toilets once).

Found Mills talking to Nick from MFKZT, who asked me how I was three times in a row (they were both a bit pissed), Mills made a comment that I really shouldnt have came to this show wearing my xCANAANx STRAIGHT EDGE shirt but Nick said he thought it was cool.

Venom: Opened with Black Metal, there was a lot of high end and very little bass but Cronos gave a great performance. They played most of their good old stuff and a few songs off the new album (which wasnt as terrible as I thought it would be), they played At War With Satan which I didnt expect but not all the way through, they went into Countess Bathory half way. They only played for about fifty minutes, it was cool but I couldnt help but feel a little cheated, I paid 17.50 for my ticket and with only two bands on I expected Venom to go on for more than an hour (plus no In League With Satan? no Teacher Pet?).

Waited outside for everyone to get out, saw Nick from MFKZT again saying he was going to drive home drunk (Im driving through two hours of country lanes so hopefully I wont get arrested). We got on a bus to Bond Street to go a Metal pub which Nick knew. We got off the bus and Nick kept saying Its the next street, no, its the next one, no, its the next one, no, its the next one, no, its the next one, and before you ask no, its the next one. Got there, it was OK they played some good stuff (Municipal Waste, The (old) Misfits, Danzig and Venom), they said they were going to a club afterwards so I went home as I only had five hours of sleep the night before and doubted if I would last too long. Found my way to Bond Street station and went to Victoria, went to the Chinese place for a bowl of tofu and rice, they had a new guy working that night, when I got on the train to sit down and eat I noticed there was only one piece of tofu in my rice. Got to Rochester very tired and somehow managed to walk home.
