Friday: My order from Reflections came through the post less than a week after I placed it (well Holland is closer than America so it would take less time). Spent the day listening to my new CDs (Cave In, In My Eyes, November Coming Fire, Sworn In and Underdog), sent out a message on Myspace with my MSN address to see if anyone wanted to add me then went down to Strood train station to go to London. Had to get off at London Bridge as the only train I could get went to Cannon Street and the underground station there is a bit cuntish. Had to deal with people running into me and people who just didnt want to move to get to the underground then got the tube to Soho, dicked around there for an hour then went to the Vegan Chinese place I usually go to, theyve stopped giving away free drinks and they forgot to give me a serviette so my hands were all sticky after I finished eating, may try the other Chinese Vegetarian place thats on the same road next time I come up to London. Had to take three different tube trains to get to Camden because you cant get on the Northern Line from Tottenham Court Road in the afternoons as they are repairing the escalators until April (CUNTS!). Had a couple of pints of coke in the Worlds End before going into the Underworld. It was only opened at half capacity (they moved this gig up from the Barfly and they only open up half the club?). The Bands:
First band whos name I cant remember and dont really care to: Sounding like a mix between Mastodon, Pelican, System Of A Down and Nile, the vocals were split between all four band members taking singing lead parts at different parts in their songs, interesting set up, boring to watch.
Just One Fix: I recognised a couple of them from other bands (the guitarist from Orange Goblin and I think one of the guys from My War) so I was interested before I heard them play. They were kind of Metalcore but not in a typical way, the singer was a little pissed off that people werent really watching them and you could hear lots of people talking amongst themselves like they didnt even notice them playing.
Burst: We find out the reason this show has been moved from the Barfly is because a digital TV channel called Redemption TV is filming the gig. I get the camera shoved by the side of my face at one point, I try not to notice it as the guy films people head banging, I must look really uncomfortable. Burst play mostly songs from the new album, a couple from Prey On Life and one from In Cavorting Ways, Im a little disappointed that they dont go off as hard as they did when I saw them with Mastodon (well the new stuff is a bit more mellow so, they wouldnt), they still play their nads off. They tell us the other day they found the site where Black Sabbath took the cover picture for their first album and took pictures of themselves doing Black Metal poses, Were nerds, we know (Id probably do the same thing if I was there though). They finish after fifty minutes, no Crystal Asunder? no Conquest : Writhe? well they did play Black But Shining (We are going to play an old song now someone in the crowd: How old? Several years), I cant complain.
Got the train to Chatham, got fucking IDd on the door of the Tap by a new bouncer, found Mills, Chris, Natasha and her friend dancing on a table on the top floor, hung out with them until ten to two, got some chips then a cab home, better than last Friday.
Saturday: Someone had been a cunt, went onto Myspace only to get a message saying my profile had been locked for 15 minutes because of excessive failed log ins, perhaps someone was pissed off at that bulletin I made saying the guy from Underground Heroes had an expensive looking haircut that made him look like a gay redneck, changed my e-mail log in to my Yahoo account when I could get in, a bit later that day whoever it was tried again. Stayed in and watched Ichi The Killer.
