Friday: I knew this would suck so why did I leave my fucking house. I was half expecting to get asked to DJ so I was worrying a little that if I got asked to DJ this week Id be expected to DJ in a fortnight when Burst are playing London and I was wondering whether I should risk booking a ticket or not, it got to the afternoon and still no text from Hayley, Ive realised that theyre keeping me on as an auxiliary DJ to step in when the people who actually get paid cant do it, fuck it Im booking that ticket for Burst. Went down the Tap met Chris then ran into Natasha and her friend then went down the Manor together, got annoyed by the shit music, ran into Anita, little Steve and a couple of their friends, left about half eleven, got wished a happy, belated birthday by Manny as he handed me my bag from behind the DJ booth. Went back to the Tap, got annoyed by drunk people stumbling around and bumping into me, then I had to put up with Tyns DJing, had to take a walk when Rollin by Limp Bizkit came on but when he played Last Resort I finally decide I couldnt take it anymore and went home.
Ok, so not much to tell this weekend so Ive come up with some reasons why I like the Tap better than the Manor;
The music may be worse but at least when they are playing something shit on the Top floor I can take a walk through the whole three floors of the pub, in the Manor if they are playing something shit in the Rock room I can only walk into the Indie room where chances are theyre playing something that is just as shit.
The Manor has two shit DJs; Rich and Lee, the Tap has one; Tyn.
Its much more fun to talk to Mills about beating up members of Underground Heroes and other assorted Hipsters that hang around the Tap than it is to talk about beating up the little kids in the Manor.
The women who work at the Tap (and most of the women who hang out there in general for that matter) are much better looking than the ones in the Manor (and most of them are over eighteen too).
I can have more interesting conversations with random strangers at the Tap than at the Manor.
