Friday: Went to the Manor, it was kinda fun, Soundsperfect Chris played loads of hardcore and Manny played nothing but classic Rock.

Saturday: Went down Tap and talked bollocks with Mills until the bands on Top floor started, first two were shite, then Sounds Perfect Chris came on then Like Hurricanes who were good, went home feeling depressed over something Mills said about how he talks to guys in the Black Metal scene and I just get distained looks from London Hardcore kids because I go to shows by myself and dont talk to anyone.

Sunday: Went to Chatham for the record fair but the cool stall ran by the guy with the dreadlocks wasnt there (I was hoping to pick up some Nick Cave albums on vinyl). Only found one CD (Ministry side projects comp, half of it is good (Pailhead, 1000 Homo DJs) the other half is just shite eighties style dance music). Came home had lunch then went up to London to see Madball. Went into Selectadisk and Virgin in Soho and picked up a few more CDs (Doors, Jurassic 5, Kyuss). Saw Guy in line and later Jaffa and a few other Medway types in the Garage. Quick review of the show:

Since The Flood: Its a Hardcore show with Madball and Sworn Enemy being the two main bands, what do you think they would sound like? They were ok
Assert: Better than I expected them to be, they were kind of Crust/Grindcore with a drum machine with some elements of The Exploited, the London Hardcore kids hated them, fuck em. Picked up their CD, just as I was looking at it the guy who was doing their merch said Wema! I looked up and saw Wema from Knuckledust shacking the guys hand.
Sworn Enemy: I went off them a while ago but I always thought they were better live than on CD so I stood at the front for shits and giggles. Got kicked in the side by Pierre from Knuckledust while he was dancing.
Madball: OK so they arent the most original Hardcore band in the world but they put on a fucking great live show. Hoya wasnt playing because he broke his hand before the tour so they had Paul from Kill Your Idles playing bass (I didnt recognise him at first, all I noticed was dude, that guy has a Venom tattoo). Stood at the front, sang along, dodged stage divers (including Guy and Jaffa, normally I try to make stage divers go into the floor but I did actually try to catch and support them out of politeness, next time I see Jaffa I should have a talk with him about wearing a studded belt when doing that (I felt the fucking go across my face)). Managed to get close enough to sing on the mic for Down By Law then got my backpack and waited for them to play Pride so I could go. Ran into Pipsqueak John after he came from seeing Funeral For A friend on the train home.
